Emily N asked:

I know the California Bar conducts extensive background checks, including whether you have a criminal record. Do they also look at school records, like if you ever got in any form of trouble with your school?

Compared to all other states, CA and PA have the least extensive background checks. However, they will still look at your school records.

Yes they do, but the offenses that you may have incurred (if that’s what you are referring to) may not be of any significance to them.

    Create a video blog…instantly.

No…. at least not without your explicit permission.

School conduct records are not public and there are a whole host of laws protecting student records (like FERPA). A state bar is not eligible to receive records without permission under FERPA.

Now, if you give the Bar permission to examine your school records… well… all bets are off.

They check or not it depends on them. But if you thought there will be some problem in your background then you can perform the background check by your own.
Below is the site mentioned which can help you in getting your background history. It’s totally free and will help you in a great deal.
